It is a very deep picture, and I as the author of it have a very special attitude towards it. A Teacher of Qi Gong while meditating is depicted on it. My idea was to paint a person sitting in lotus position on the background of a pond with lotuses. So I asked the master of Qi Gong whose classes I was attending to model for this picture. He agreed and said that he wouldn’t just be sitting in lotus position but that he would be meditating, and that I might even feel this energy. I did not quite understand at that moment what exactly he meant but, of course, I agreed to that. I was happy not only to get a “beautiful model” in lotus position but also that this model would be able to sit still in this position limitless amount of time. There was a background of quiet meditative music. I started painting this picture and almost immediately got turned on into a powerful flow of Master’s meditative energy – I could feel hot waves running through my body, and the picture somehow was being painted by itself. Who painted it? Was it I, or the Qi Gong Master, or the Gods, or the Balinese spirits, or all of them together? Or did it just come down on this canvas from the Universe? Usually, when doing a portrait, I go through a process of finding a form and make some changes and corrections while working on it, but with this picture in was different – I painted it from beginning to end without making any changes. To be more exact, I felt as if I were a channel through which some Divine Power was just directing my hand and implementing what I had in mind. The picture came out to be very energetically loaded and full of light, it can be used as a means of talking to the Creator. At least, I manage to do so. Later, I wrote a picture to make a pair to this one – a girl sitting in lotus position, also on the background of a pond with lotuses, but she is painted from her back…
The picture was painted while in Bali under the influence of a relaxing and absolutely happy life in the island of Art.
